Amélie is a versatile and timeless dress that enchants with its thoughtful details. It features dropped shoulders and a generous hem that falls just below the knee. The waist drawstring and ties allow you to adjust the dress's fit to your liking. The gathered sleeves are three-quarter length, with elastic cuffs that create a striking detail. A tie closure at the back of the neck, discreet side seam pockets, and the luxurious feel and texture of the fabric complete this beautiful dress.

Material

Material: 74% TENCEL lyocell, 26% linen
Fabric design: Denmark
Fabric production: Turkey

This unique fabric combines the softness of lyocell and the durability of linen.

Care instructions

We recommend local stain removal whenever possible and a washing temperature of 30 degrees. The fabric feels stiff after washing, but softens again when it dries. The product may shrink up to 5%. Tumble drying is not recommended. Ironing with two point heat.

Tip: After machine washing, you get the best result by letting the garment dry on a hanger and steaming it before use.

Manufacturing

Most of he products are made-to-order in Porvoo, Finland by designer and founder Isabella Suutari. The Amélie and Valerie dresses are made in small batches by professional seamstresses in Espoo, Finland.

The story of the dress

The story of the Amélie and Valerie dresses began in the spring of 2023, when I felt a great need to create something different. However, I wanted to stay true to what Sieluisa is known for and I ended up adding various thoughtful details to our basic pattern.

I wanted to design a timeless and multi-purpose dress that will last a lifetime and flatter our ever-changing body. I can already picture how these dresses will be passed down from generation to generation. Future vintage.

Throughout this process, I channeled my inner Parisian - a stylish and confident woman who enjoys the beautiful moments and small things of everyday life. I hope that you too will feel confident and happy when you wear an Amélie or Valerie dress.
